What We Do

Makueni Youth Network was formed and registered in August 2014 as a Community Based Organization (CBO). Founders of this network strongly believed that young people can be a pivotal generation to positively transform this nation and the world at large. We work with development partners such as Zizi Afrique, Uwezo Twaweza, Usawa Agenda, Poverty Eradication Network, Civic Freedm Forum, Elimu Yetu Coalition, and Kenya Community Development Foundation to ensure youth and marginalized women and PWDs lead change in social, educational, economic, and political spaces.

Advocacy

Makueni Youth Network exists to confront systemic challenges by mobilizing, training, and supporting financially youth-led, women-led and PWDs-led groups in Makueni County to submit their proposals during public participations, take up leadership positions, demand transparency in government dealings, and hold duty bearers accountable for their actions.

Talent Development

Makueni Youth Network collaborates with local leaders to identify, nurture, and promote the diverse talents of young people across Makueni County. From creative arts and digital innovation to sports and entrepreneurship, this program creates safe, inclusive spaces for youth to explore their potential, build skills, and connect with mentorship and market opportunities.

Educational Research

We work with Usawa Agenda and Zizi Arique Foundation where to conduct Annual Learning Assessments on literacy, numeracy and competency and share evidence to inform policy and practice.

Leadership Development

Makueni Youth Network’ belief is that when young people are equipped with the right business skills, knowledge, alongside mentoring, coaching and financial support, they can start or scaleup businesses and be valuable members of society.

You are welcome to become part of Makueni Youth Network.

A Network standing with the youth during every stage of their life.

Who We Are

Makueni Youth Network was formed and registered in August 2014 as a Community Based Organization (CBO). Founders of this network strongly believed that young people can be a pivotal generation to positively transform this nation and the world at large. Specifically, the network envisions to: (a) empower and inspire young people to attain market-demanded skills and talents; (b) increase youth employment and entrepreneurship; and (c) expand networking and mentorship opportunities to transform their passions into viable careers and impactful ventures. In order to attain these broader objectives, Makueni Youth Network offers innovative trainings, coaching, mentorship, and financial support that are necessary to help young people to access entrepreneurial, education, employment, and leadership opportunities.

The failure to invest in youth reflects a lack of
compassion and a colossal failure of common sense.
