Youth In Business & Job Creation
It is the entry point for all members of network. Each member must complete the leadership track, where they are equipped with 21st century leadership skills, project management, business communication, advocacy, and teamwork.

Rights, Governance & Accountability
Corruption, patronage, nepotism, and unwillingness of the government officials to give up control over programs and projects are some of the key challenges that confront the participation of youth, women and PWDs in governance and decision-making processes. As a result, Makueni Youth Network exists to confront these systemic challenges by mobilizing, training, and supporting financially youth-led, women-led and PWDs-led groups in Makueni County to submit their proposals during public participations, take up leadership positions, demand transparency in government dealings, and hold duty bearers accountable for their actions. Besides, Makueni Youth Network supports these grassroots groups to carry out joint engagements during county planning, submit their proposals in the county budgets, monitor county performance, and whenever applicable, submit petitions and memoranda to influence policy change, transparency, accountability, and ensure Makueni government plans are responsive to the basic needs and rights of the marginalized groups.

Education, Knowledge Development, and Research
We strongly believe that youth issues have not been well dealt-with by governments and development agents because there has been no reliable data existing about youth dynamics. We work with two major partners: Usawa Agenda and Zizi Arique Foundation where we conduct Annual Learning Assessments on literacy, numeracy and competency and share evidence to inform policy and practice.

Youth In Climate Change
Makueni Youth Network supports participation of young people in tackling climate change through advocacy, capacity building, and action-oriented initiatives. For instance, we conduct educational programs on climate change, train youth to participate in green entrepreneurship, and empower them to adopt sustainable practices, and environmental conservation. In this year, MYN has mobilized young people to participate in tree planting, clean-up drives, and mobilized stakeholders to influence climate policies. By engaging youth in climate governance and decision-making, the network ensures their voices contribute to sustainable policies that can foster a greener and more resilient future.
