Who We Are

Makueni Youth Network CBO was founded and registered in 2014 as a Community Based Organization (CBO) with a key focus of establishing a movement of young people who are ready to take up leadership positions and drive positive change in social, educational, political and economic spaces. Founders of this network strongly believed that young people and marginalized groups such as women and PWDs can be a pivotal generation to positively transform this nation and the world at large. Specifically, the network envisions to: (a) mobilize, empower and inspire young people, women, and PWDs to participate in key decision-making; (b) increase youth, women and PWDs in Leadership positions; and (c) activate grassroots collaboration and civic actions to confront systemic challenges that hinder full participation of youth, women and PWDs in educational, social, economic, and leadership spaces.
